Vermilion Advantage houses 3 divisions: The Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development and Workforce Development divisions. The Economic Development Division serves as the Deputy Administrator for the Danville/Tilton Enterprise Zone. We can direct your staff as to how to receive maximum benefit from the state and local incentives available if you are located in this zone. The staff is also trained and skilled in grant writing. Therefore, we are pleased to assist small communities or businesses in preparing public applications for grant requests. Information that is available: * Labor Market Information: Current and documented trends. Wage and benefit data and trends - broad annual survey of the local employment base so that current data and trends are available for evaluation in composite or specific industry type format (e.g. manufacturing only, distribution only, service only, etc.) * Retail Sales Comparison: By municipality, county and individual commodity type. * Construction trends: For commercial, industrial and residential. Web homepage: http://www.vermilionadvantage.com & www.442jobs.com * Census data: Most current available and comparative data * Available sites and facilities: Cooperative information sharing relationship with the Area Board of Realtors for commercial and industrial buildings and property. * Financing Assistance: Provides a link to a variety of public funding. Helps package applications. * Utilities: Data about all the county utility systems as well as close working relationships with utility providers. Vermilion Advantage Workforce Business Clusters work with the youth of Vermilion County. Collectively, the Workforce Business Clusters provide in excess of $125,000 to support K-16 educational workforce programs focusing on character education, math and science. The clusters provide all programs to schools through Vermilion County free of charge. Many programs also require business volunteers to participate with the classroom teacher on a monthly or weekly basis. During the 2008-2009 school year, the Clusters provided programs to 40 county public and private schools K-14 and 5 youth organizations served a total of 5,962 students and involved 66 classroom volunteers from 37 of the participating businesses.
